About the service

What is TEL050JP?

A service for sending and receiving voice messages and faxes, and making calls (Pro plan), from a browser alone, while keeping a record of each exchange. No app to install. See Getting started for an overview.

Do I need special equipment or an app?

No. There is no line installation and no hardware. You use it from the browser on your computer or smartphone.

Who can use it?

Anyone aged 18 or over can register. Companies are welcome. People under 18 cannot use the service.

Can I talk to the other party in real time?

On the Pro plan you can place calls from the browser (every call is recorded and kept in your inbox). Voice messages on the Free and Standard plans play a pre-recorded audio file on the recipient's phone; they are not a live conversation.

What should I do in an emergency (110, 118, 119)?

Calls to 110 (police), 118 (coast guard) and 119 (fire and ambulance) cannot be made from this service. In an emergency, call from a mobile or landline phone. Police and fire stations also have ordinary landline numbers starting with an area code, and those can usually be called; we recommend noting the number of your local station in advance. Some short codes and 0570 navi-dial numbers cannot be called either. See the list of numbers that cannot be called.

Registration and identity verification

What do I need to register?

An email address and a phone number. Once both are confirmed you can start sending on the Free plan. Register here.

Is identity verification required? Does it cost anything?

Until identity verification is complete, the Free plan allows up to 5 sends per month (faxes and voice messages combined). Completing verification (a one-time setup fee of 550pt) removes the limit. The Standard and Pro plans require verification.

How is identity verified?

Follow the instructions on your account page. Once verified, re-applying costs nothing.

I am a sole proprietor. Should I register as an individual or a corporation?

Register as an individual. Corporate registration requires a 13-digit corporate number, which sole proprietors do not have. An individual account can hold one 050 number. Contracting under a trade name is not supported at present.

Points and pricing

What are points? Do they expire?

1pt = 1 yen. Points pay for sends, proof storage and plan fees. Purchased points expire 6 months after issue, and the points closest to expiry are used first. Free points from campaigns have their own expiry per grant.

Can points be refunded?

No. Points can only be used for TEL050JP services and cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded.

What is the difference between the plans?

The Free plan (0pt per month) is send-only. The Standard plan (990pt per month or 9,900pt per year) adds a dedicated 050 number for receiving. The Pro plan (1,540pt per month or 15,400pt per year, with 1,000pt granted free each month) adds real-time calls from the browser with call recording. Per-send rates and details are on Points and plans.

What happens if I do not have enough points at renewal?

If the balance is short of the Pro fee you move to Standard; if it is also short of the Standard fee you move to Free. We notify you by email and on your account page before renewal.

Is there a refund when I change plans?

No. Changing from Pro or Standard is not refunded. Cancelling stops automatic renewal, and you keep the plan until the end of the current period.

About JPYC

How do I buy JPYC and prepare a wallet?

Prepare a wallet you control that supports your chosen network. Follow the JPYC EX guidance from the official JPYC website for identity verification, wallet registration and issuance by bank transfer. Check the official guidance for current minimum amounts, supported wallets and verification requirements.

Register your sending wallet on the TEL050JP purchase page, choose a network and display the receiving address. Send from the registered wallet. Never enter your private key or recovery phrase into TEL050JP.

How do Polygon and Kaia differ?
NetworkFee currencyChoose when
PolygonPOLYour JPYC is on Polygon
KaiaKAIAYour JPYC is on Kaia

Balances are separate on each network even when the address is identical. Choose a network supported by your wallet where you hold JPYC and the fee currency. Selecting a network on this page does not move assets or switch your wallet network. Fees and confirmation times vary; points require TEL050JP to detect and confirm the transfer.

Only networks offered on the purchase page are accepted. Amoy and Kairos are testnets: do not send real JPYC there. JPYC Prepaid and other tokens are not accepted.

Official references: Polygon POL and Kaia transaction fees.

About XYM (Symbol)

How do I buy points with XYM?

Open the XYM route from the point purchase page and it shows your personal code (TEL050-XXXXXXXX) and a receiving address. Send XYM on Symbol mainnet to that address from your own wallet or an exchange withdrawal, and write your personal code in the message field of the transfer. Without the code the deposit waits for an administrator.

Points appear once the block is finalized, usually within a few minutes. Never enter your private key or recovery phrase into TEL050JP.

How are the points calculated?

The deposit is converted at the rate we observe when it is first seen (bitbank XYM/JPY), credited per whole yen with any fraction dropped. The rate shown on the purchase page is indicative, not a quote: the price movement between your transfer and the credit is yours.

A deposit worth more than 20,000 points waits for an administrator instead of being credited automatically. Paid points are valid for six months from issue, and purchases cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash.

Only XYM on Symbol mainnet is accepted. Another network, another mosaic or another chain cannot always be recovered.

Sending (fax and voice messages)

Which file formats can I send?

Faxes take a PDF or image file; voice messages take an audio file. Supported formats and limits are shown on the send screen.

Can I schedule a send for a later time?

Yes. A scheduled send also uses points when you confirm it in the preview, and cancelling it or letting it expire refunds the full amount.

Can I cancel a send?

Yes, from the outbox, as long as transmission has not started. Once it has started it cannot be cancelled.

What happens to my points if nobody answers or the line is busy?

No answer, a busy line or a failure before dialling refunds the full amount. If the other party answers, you pay at least one unit (one page for a fax, one play for a voice message) even if the send does not complete, and the difference is refunded. Repeated unanswered sends to the same number may not be refunded. See Points and plans for details.

How long are records and files kept?

The send and receive history is kept indefinitely. The files themselves are kept for 30 days (60 days on Pro); the deadline is shown on each row of the outbox and inbox. To keep a record longer, put it into proof storage before the deadline.

Where can I see sends that failed?

In the outbox. Sends that were not refunded are shown there too.

Receiving (dedicated 050 number)

What can I do with a dedicated 050 number?

Standard and higher plans assign you a dedicated 050 number. Voicemail and faxes that arrive on it can be listened to or read in the browser inbox. Incoming calls are free, and received records can also go into proof storage. Live incoming calls cannot be answered.

Proof storage

What is proof storage?

A feature that keeps what you sent, received or said in a form you can show to a third party, demonstrating that the date, time and content are unchanged since storage. It issues a proof package containing a certificate PDF, the record and a verification page. Proof storage shows that the date, time and content are unchanged since storage; how a record is evaluated legally is up to the proceedings in which it is used.

How much does it cost and how long is it kept?

Sent or received faxes and voice messages cost 30pt each, call recordings 100pt each, and the storage period is one year. Current prices are on Points and plans.

How does a third party check the content?

They open the verification page (verify.html) bundled in the proof package in a browser and select the files. It confirms that the content is unchanged since storage. Verification runs entirely in the browser; no connection to or enquiry with TEL050JP's servers is needed. The mechanism is explained in How proof storage works.

Can it still be verified if TEL050JP shuts down?

Yes. Verification needs only the proof package, your copy of the file and the public blockchain record; it does not depend on TEL050JP's servers.

AI agent integration (MCP)

What can I ask an AI to do?

After linking a compatible AI agent, it can send faxes and voice messages, check your inbox and outbox, and request proof storage within the permissions you grant. Buying points and changing plans cannot be done by an AI; do those yourself on screen.

Is the AI integration safe?

You enable it under "AI agent access" in your settings and choose the permissions the AI receives. Disabling the integration revokes access for every AI agent at once. Audio, faxes and history retrieved by an AI are processed by that AI's provider, so check how the AI you use handles data.

Cancellation and account closure

What happens when I cancel my plan?

Cancellation stops automatic renewal, and you keep the plan until the end of the current period. There is no pro-rata calculation or refund for cancelling mid-period.

How do I give up a contract number (release an added number)?

Contact support through Contact us. A released number stops being billed from the next renewal; points already spent are not refunded. Released numbers are reassigned to other customers after a waiting period, so the release cannot be undone.

Blocking a corporate staff account does not release its number: the number stays assigned to that account and keeps counting toward the limit and the renewal fee. When a number is no longer needed, for example after a staff member leaves, ask support to release it.

How do I close my account?

From the account edit screen. Data deleted after its retention period cannot be restored, so download any records you need or put them into proof storage before closing.
